Discipline

Everyone is valuable and worthy of respect in our class.  With that in mind, please note the following class rules which the students helped create:

1.  Treat everyone with respect and kindness.

2.  Come to class on time and ready to learn.

3.  If it's not yours, don't touch it!

4.  Follow all school rules, including keeping cell phones off and in your backpacks.

5.  Turn in all assignments on time.

If students choose to violate these rules, it means they choose the consequences, which are posted in the room.  Consequences may include a verbal warning, staying after class to discuss the behavior, a note and/or phone call home, and/or detention.  Students who endanger themselves or others (or who threaten to do so) will forfeit the right to this scale of consequences and will immediately be referred to the administration.

Please note: This is taken from the Welcome Letter Home to Parents/Guardians at the beginning of the year, which everyone should have signed and returned to me by September 1, 2011.  (For a copy of the letter, please click here.)  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  For my contact information, click here.

Also, according to school policy, student behavior will be assessed with a "Standards-Based Report Card."  For more details, click here.
